The kindest and best Orthodox I've ever had!!!
I have never met such an abrasive, arrogant, and ignorant doctor in my entire life.
I’ve had pain in my sacral area for few years now. It was often dismissed by my primary doctor as fibromyalgia related, even though I did explain to him over and over how dissimilar this specific pain was to the rest of the aches I experienced in my neck and shoulders, but that’s another story. Finally when things reached an unbearable level, I was able to have an MRI done for my back. This revealed that I had a Tarlov Cyst and an almost unnoticeable and very mild disc herniation. When I started reading about this extremely rare disease, everything made sense. I thought finally we found what is wrong with me. I was enthusiastic about starting the healing process. Until I met doctor Tony Tannoury. He immediately refused to recognize that my pain is due to the cyst, claiming that these cysts are asymptomatic, which is completely wrong, not only because research I did proved otherwise, but most importantly because me, I, myself, am experiencing the pain! I know where it’s coming from and I know when it started. He didn’t care to listen to me and bragged about seeing 40 patients a day, which for his closeminded egotistical self is all that matters. How about admitting the rarity of my disease, and admitting that you’re incapable of doing anything about it? Actually how about being a little more sympathetic and understanding of my situation? How can you bear the title of a doctor, someone whose sole motive is to help others, when you lack the most fundamental quality that a caring human being possesses? Empathy. They don’t teach that in medical school. You’re either born with it or you’re not. Based on my experience with this doctor, he is so lacking in that department. A communications class would serve to help him. There’s nothing more hurtful than dismissing someone’s suffering and not acknowledging their feelings. I felt attacked when I was supposed to feel comforted and cared for. What really upset me is when he pulled out his recorder and started reeling off the encounter stating wrong facts about my pain and where I’m experiencing it, which I made sure I corrected, but when he said: “after a long conversation with patient” -which made me want to vomit- I decided not to bother anymore. Our conversation didn’t last more than 4 mins, because again he wouldn’t listen. He just wanted to say what he wanted to say very quickly as if he was very important and didn’t have the time for someone like me. Well newsflash doctor; your importance has nothing to do with how many people you see each day, which meant nothing next to your outdated and false knowledge of Tarlov Cysts, it has to do with how you treat your fellow human beings.
I have had my neck surgery almost 3 years ago by Dr Tannoury, The outcome of the surgery has been impressive in improving the quality of life I am having after the operation. Dr Tannoury is one of the best physician i have had in term of bedside manner .
