This place is absolutely terrible. They botched my father's funeral from the beginning and made an extremely difficult time for me even more stressful. I wouldn't let these people bury my fish, let alone a loved one. Steer clear!!
My family worked here for over 50 years since the funeral home was on shawmut ave. with the exception of Julie the new Director- the new staff has poor customer service. It is sad, but I could not recommend this funeral home anymore to anyone.
Surprised tremendously by the previous reviews only because i arranged the services of my dad who passed away 2wks ago with this establishment and even thoughh i didn't feel all warm and cozy (after all it's a funeral home) i did however breathe a huge sigh if relief, as they were my second choice for the services after going to davis's who pretty much tried to charge me for everything including breathing the air in their establishment. I was pleased with my dads arrangements. Hopefully i never have to see them again, but if so, i'd frequent again.
I was raised by the motto "If you do not have anything nice to say..." So will not go into too much detail. Over a year later, not one of the 3 death certificates delivered. And if I had not spoken to Davis Funeral Home (because of a delay), Johnson was not giving necessary info. Read each page of their documents thoroughly, carefully, and Separately. Wish I had gone to Davis or elsewhere. One star because it is a Funeral Home.
My family had the most horrendous experience. Personally I was not able to attend my grandma's funeral. But I do know my mom came back to us shaking her head and with tears in her eyes. The funeral director should be fired and put out to pasture. Her superior behavior and hostile presence made this somber occasion unbearable. Compassion and sensitivity fall on deaf ears from this place. My mom was treated like an outsider. Shame on you J.B. Johnson Funeral Home.
