In Bacall and Conniff's defense, 1 phone call was made on my behalf to the IRS after they had been made aware of my dilemma, but even after my offering to pay for additional services and their recognition of something gone awry, I was dismissed and the frequency of email responses dropped from infrequent to none.
The first time I employed Bacall and Conniff was in 2014, I knew one of the employees and that was the sole reason I decided to use them for my tax return. Sure enough, my 2014 tax return came in just fine, the advice I was given was sound and as predicted I came out even with the IRS that year.
I would recommend this firm for your Tax Return purposes, so long as you have a simple tax return to file. If you are to consider Bacall and Conniff I urge you to do so with hesitance if your circumstances of employment or lifestyle are out of the ordinary. However, keep in mind, I am now $3k short and I have no real evidence that I rightfully owe this to the IRS.

Gail A*****lt has been nothing but wonderful for our staff and our business. Highly responsive and is always there to answer any question we have!
However, my situation was complicated in 2015, for I am a merchant mariner and was working internationally, traveling and living abroad on a regular basis. The company I worked for at the time had given me a relatively large check (approx $15k) for my services provided for the amount of time I had spent abroad, which was normal among my fellow coworkers, but this made my taxes more complicated than usual. When I made Bacall and Conniff aware of this sum of money, they decided it was appropriate to fill out an addendum, which was indeed the proper way to proceed. However, with their admittance, there seemed to be some uncertainty on Bacall and Conniff's part regarding how it should be filed, so the 'large' sum of money was filed simply as additional income.
Long story short, I am awarding Bacall and Conniff 2 stars, for at least having 1 of 2 tax returns filed smoothly, I also am taking into account the one phone call made on my behalf to the IRS regarding my 2015 tax return.
I was audited 1 year later and was told I owed just over $3000 on my 2015 taxes. I called Bacall and Conniff and, with some difficulty reaching my accountant, made them aware of my little surprise, I scanned them any pertinent information I had and waited as directed. I had to check in several times, but the uncertainty of the nature of the check and how it was supposed to be filed was now apparent. Bacall and Conniff admitted that this surprise was unwarranted, so I tried to sort things out myself with the IRS, but my knowledge of tax legalities was poor at best, and although I have learned much from this blunder, it is still below where I would like it to be, so I made little headway into determining whether the taxes were filed correctly or not.
I made Bacall and Conniff aware of my complaint, I also made them aware of my intentions to resolve this quickly and peacefully. I received an email the next day from my accountant expressing his "dissapointment" and his feelings of frustration with me not being able to return phone calls (mind you I am at sea/overseas for half my life). The following day, my complaint was dismissed under such a clause that it was not pertinent to a BBC complaint. That was sometime early February (2017).
I wish Bacall and Conniff and all readers a happy tax season.
I continued my battle with the IRS and, after recent conversation with them, I was told that the check was indeed filed incorrectly. it should not have been filed under self employed income and they went as far as telling me what I needed to fill out. I went back to Bacall and Conniff with this and asked them to fill it out in return for extra compensation. Bacall and Conniff then told me that the form the IRS sent was not applicable to m, so I again asked for confirmation on their part that what they filed had been correct, to which I received no answer... until I filed a complaint with the BBC.
