Crossed this one off the "lived in Boston for 5 years and should probably see what it's all about". Very cool to see in person and actually the sound effects were a bigger highlight. Very interesting to see how the sound is affected by a sphere.

A truly one of a kind opportunity to stand inside a map of the globe (circa 1930s). The globe, which is 30 feet high and painted onto over 600 individual stained glass panels, creates an incredible effect and opportunity to see a map of the world from a totally unique perspective. At only $6 for a guided tour, the entry fee is well worth it.

The Mapparium: An Inside View,” featuring letters, documents, and artifacts never before made public. These showcase the construction, history, and significance of this magnificent architectural and artistic achievement.

We went there for the Mapparium and were a bit let down. There isn't much to see in the museum, and the Mapparium was 15 minutes standing in a room where you aren't even allowed photos, so the price of admission seemed unfair. It's a cool exhibit, but I'd rather go to the MFA.

The Mapparium was conceived by the architect of the Christian Science Publishing Society building, Chester Lindsay Churchill, as a symbol for the global outreach of The Christian Science Monitor. Mary Baker Eddy founded the Monitor in 1908 and gave it the mission “to injure no man, but to bless all mankind.”

This attraction is really cool! It’s $6 or $4 for seniors and students. It’s about a 15-20 min “tour”. The only down part is that you can’t take pictures inside but the experience is worth it! The price is definitely reasonable.
