Pardon the expression, but I was kicked out of the store for serving the store owner his own ass.
It was quite racial discrimination as there were other white people but they were fine, but just us who were Asians
and according to the many terrible reviews on Google of his business, many people agree that he is doing something very wrong.
This guy seemed like he was around 30's, bold and wearing glasses
Never got treated like this as customers before.
I was flabbergasted by the owner and his clear denial of what was in front of him, and I know for sure that it was denial and not a lack of knowledge, since there were "Do Not Take Photos" signs everywhere in the store.
In Summary-
Extremely unsatisfied with service here today
This man should NOT have his business in operation due to the conditions he keeps the animals in.
I would never purchase any thing from a person like this.
Great selection of all animal. Awesome customer service great people and know how to care for animals. Knowing about this pet shop there’s never a reason to elsewhere. I’ve gotten a few animals from here and they’ve all been excellent.
there is not a more egregious sight than the clear mistreatment of animals for profit. I asked the pet store owner if he has any knowledge on the implications of putting rodents, reptiles and loud tropical birds in the same poorly ventilated room, and he told me that he saw nothing wrong.
At such a highly educated city of Boston
was swearing at girls that were looking around the store he was calling them "Assholes" just for looking around not just once, but until we left the store. We were quite forced to leave the store.
Today's experience was a shock
Although I found out that the store was in the process of changing its license (meaning I could not buy one of the larger pets), I found the owner to be kind and well-mannered. I would recommend buying a pet here rather than from one of the larger chains.
Needless to say, I began to take photos as evidence of it all- the tropical parrot running loose across the floor, the diseased animals, and then he, the store owner, ran up to me from across the store and told me to get out immediately.
There was a nice couple next to me that was just as shocked as I was at the conditions the animals were in.
the man who runs The Pet Store on Harvard Avenue in Allston is a criminal.
THIS STORE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY
I told him calmly that animal abuse is a serious crime,
If I could give 0 stars I would. This place smells so bad and the animals look like they're in such a horrible environment. The place is so crowded and the animals look like they're dying. THEY NEED TO SHUT this place. I only went there once to pick up some bedding for my bunnies cause there wasn't any store open but this one and I'm never going back there every again. I feel so bad for the animals I wish I could buy them all and set them free. This place is trash sorry not sorry
If I could leave a 0 star. I totally would.
I asked him if he noticed that his guinea pigs were diseased, and he said they were not, when they clearly were, one being hunched over, with puffed up hair and crusting eyes, breathing very slowly, his cagemate with crusting skin on its hind legs from what appeared to be as mites (and going deaf, or were deaf, since the guinea pig frequency hearing range goes up to 50khz and the birds in the same room were constantly screaming at incredibly high frequencies).
Nothing suspicious about that.
