I'm unfortunately going to "one-up" people here. After canceling my account in July, on that same day, the club FORGED a new Membership Agreement, signed it (no where near my signature), put in the terms they would like to see, and I've just caught it now. OH, and 'somehow', after calling ABC Financial, another member of the club had been authorized on my account, so I was paying their fees too. I've emailed the General Manager (Julie O'Connell jocgolds@yahoo dot com) and heard nothing back. This is my credit card company's hands now. I don't even want to go in there.

The staff at this gym is dishonest and manipulative. The "member services" financial company that they use to handle finances called "ABC Financials" is not an accredited company and aims to scam all of their customers. Upon signing up for my membership with this gym, I was never informed of "maintenance fees" that I would be charged, and never even was asked to sign a contract. I never received any type of written agreement outlining the policies, and when I tried to cancel my membership I was told that the only way to cancel was for medical leave, and there wasn't even a "buy-out" option. The facilities are sub-par and customer service is awful. Absolutely not worth the cost or hassle.
The Manager, Danny is so friendly and informative. He doesn't lie about fees or try to manipulate- I've been reading these horrible reviews about manipulation & hidden fees, Personally, I think it's great! I don't know about the rude staff you guys speak of, it might be true for you but not from my experience or my husband's. He loves working out here! Danny, the manager, is such a gentleman.

Robbed me blind, DO NOT GO HERE. My girlfriend and I both signed up at the same time but were never told our contracts were completely different from each other. She was able to easily cancel once we moved back to Connecticut and now I'm stuck paying a $100 cancellation fee while trying to get together a laundry list of paper work to send in for proof of address. Gym is tiny, dirty, and always packed not worth the 40 bucks a month. The horror story's about golds gym are true but I didn't listen.
