They treated my son with lots of love and care and where very helpful showed me the proper way to clean his wound and how to bandage it it felt so comfortable knowing my son w a s being treated with the best care possible and the parking for Shriners is also free

Amazing staff, I am not sure How my daughter would of been able to deal with her injuries without the support from the staff!! Thank you so much.

I worked for Shriners Hospitals for Children Boston for many years. Unlike others, I did not build my career there. That was not my first job in life so when I was hired I came with ample experience of many years which is why I was hired to begin with. The interview and hiring process was really quick and not that challenging. The staff and management I met in the beginning process were absolutely amazing. Very kind and understanding. The HR and Senior managers I never had a problem with. It was more the department manager and supervisor. There are constant internal wars with employees and sometimes even patients. Poor and disturbing behaviors! I do not understand how the Boston location is even under operation still. Quite frankly, HQ Tampa need to seriously consider conducting investigation because the Boston location has so much going on that makes no sense! I also do not like that for many years' patients were made a promise. A promise that was kept until last year which was, they will treat regardless of the ability to pay. Patients that have been treated since they were born were sent off to their countries with no more hopes, with no other resources or assistance just because they do not have insurance and are international. I understand the importance of revenue but what happened to the "core values" of the hospital? The main mission and vision of why the hospital was implanted to begin with? You can't accept everyone and then send them off because majority of the families coming to the facility were international. There is so much going on in that facility that is very disturbing! Micromanagement in most if not all departments! Supervisors barely present during tough situations. Employees having to step up and act as the supervisor on duty and handle matters on their own. The only way that some departments are even successful is because some of the employees work and remain together, cover, assist and back one another when needed. There are tons of department wars! Which manager and supervisor takes care of what, who's in charge, "I was hired because I know what I'm doing, I know this person and that person, if it wasn't because of me, the same way you got hired is the same way you can get fired (you're at will)". I mean it's completely obnoxious! A lot of things are stated verbally so they are not recorded and or saved for evidence. Which is why there is one supervisor that has gotten away with a lot of murder. There is a lot of stereotyping, racism, prejudice, bullying, disrespect. I have never worked in such stressful environment. All my career experience has been developed in the health field and I never came across such hostile environment. When you enter you would think it's so peaceful and amazing but it's not! I wouldn't recommend as employment to anyone. Patient care is different however the same nurses and staff that take care of the patients with a wonderful smile and care are the same ones mistreating each other behind closed doors. It's a mad man place and it needs to be investigated ASAP! The laws have been broken for many years when it comes to operations. That is why I say it's necessary HQ checks that place out immediately! And if not the news and media need to take over because I really feel for the employees that remain and have been there for many years. That are silently taking the beating because it's all they have.
