This is a great place to stop for a drink and relax. Great view over the harbor, good service. Fantastic AC in the summer and clean restrooms.
We went to Waterline for the Mother's Day brunch. It was very much of a disappointment for a number of reasons. First of all, for the price (expensive) there was not much of a selection. There weren't any pancakes, waffles, or french toast which most kids will eat & considering it was Mother's Day there were bound to be children at the brunch. Plates were not picked up after finishing soup, salad & the like so those were pushed to the center of the table upon completing those foods. Flatware was not replaced after using, which if this were the only problem I wouldn't be writing this. Forks used for dinner could have been used for dessert, for example. No one offered 2nds on coffee, water, or juice. The tip was automatically added on since we had 4 adults & 3 children which I know is done in many places. However, when there wasn't any "service" after the initial offering of coffee, juice, & water it was annoying for the tip to be automatically added to the bill.Also Waterline is very noisy if the tables are mostly occupied.

Marriott is doing something right with their bar and food program, elevating what is traditionally rather generic 'tourist' food to a new level by focusing on quality and local cuisine. I love this place, tucked away on the second level of the hotel, it is a relaxing place to get a decent craft cocktail or local beer, and the food we've gotten has been consistently good.
Had an hour to kill before our whale watch started so we had some food and enjoyed the air-conditioning in Waterline.
The waffle fries are enormous - definitely to be shared! And the chowder was tasty.
