First thought it was just coffee shop... but once inside realized it was a full restaurant. Absolutely amazing French cuisine but with a different flare! We had burgers, sole and steak with several sides. The soufflé for dessert was to die for. Delicious food!! Huge wine list. Staff were very personable. Ambiance was airy and spacious and you could talk and hear one another easily. . It did take 45 minutes to get our food but since it was only the second day opening we chalked this up to the kitchen getting used to organization of orders. Medium priced for Boston. Will definitely return.

Every eating option available in the multi-space new phenomenon. In an iconic Boston Landmark building across from the Common. The owners have turned this space into flowing areas for a cafe, restaurant, bar, coffee house, bakery, study space and an intimate dining space. Everything you could want any time of day in one place. Bustling with activity all day long. In addition they have great friendly staff. The best part is they have excellent coffee, with an international list of coffee drink options, really fresh wonderful baked goods, a wide selection of delicious food, as well as a nice wine selection and a well stocked bar.

Embodiment of 3/5. It wasn't a waste of time or a meal but I probably won't go back. Fun scene though / confused and slow service. Nice that something grand has opened in this part of town / too much vinegar on that meal. And so it goes on at the Explorateur, something not so terrible is followed by something decent. All in all: meh

Interesting concept to have a cafe, bar, and restaurant in one - it provides a unique atmosphere in which to transition from eating to studying to drinking. Food items are average but expensive. The salted caramel chocolate cake was unquestionably old and past its prime and tasted like dried minced onion with a similar texture. A slice ran me $6. The tea tastes pretty cheap. The seating for studying is better than most places with plenty of electrical outlets. The atmosphere is relaxed with plenty of lighting. All in all ok but wouldn’t make this my spot.

What an amazing place... I enjoyed the draft latte very much. Great ambience, and beautiful people. I like the decor, gorgeous lamps on the tables. The music is a little loud, but not a problem, it’s just my taste.
