Service was excellent. The bed was super comfortable. My room was very clean. I stayed in one of the king suites and the furnishings were very nice. The continental breakfast offered more choices than most and the food quality was good. Parking is free and the room rates are very good for Boston. The only drawback is the neighborhood is a little sketchy but the staff really work hard on maintaining safety. They have a shuttle service which is super convenient. Overall great place, I've stayed here a few times per year for the last 15 years and will definitely stay again.
Bad points:
1) the RETURN shuttle is completely unreliable (despite giving tips and making sure the driver should show up even if you don't "book it" at a certain time, I had to call the hotel after waiting for 30 minutes at the specified location TWICE, and I wasn't late. I finally gave up and took the bus for the rest of the week, which is way more frequent and also cheaper if you consider that you don't have to tip the bus driver lol);
The hotel itself was very nice. My TV did not work...not a huge deal. Printer did not work at check out for my bill. The people surrounding the hotel were awful. Homeless, drug addicts ,I felt very unsafe walking into the hotel alone. Then was asked to go back out to hang a tag on my car for parking. Police, fire and ambulance we're there to pick up a person who overdosed in the parking lot. Woman running around for a few hours yelling and screaming trying to crawl under customers cars. I think security should be present at all times to make your customers feel safe. Hotel was lovely unfortunately the surroundings were not
For the money and convenience, it was a great place to stay. A bit loud at night because of the location, but nothing beyond what we would have had to deal with in the city. All staff were outstanding and very service oriented. We had a great experience at this hotel as it served our purposes perfectly.
The hotel is located in an unusual building which is an interesting way to recycle and preserve them. It is sadly located next to a big hospital and next to a very active road so the noise level at night can be bothersome. I don't have trouble with noise so I slept well but that might be problematic for some.
I would have preferred a more frequent schedule for the shuttle bus from and to the hotel to the subway stations. I haven't been able to try it as it never matched with my own schedule.
NOT RECOMMENDED for single female travellers.

City buses are available though it wasn't much of a problem
Good points: friendly staff, clean, comfortable beds, plenty of free stuff, early breakfast with quite a good range of options (mostly packaged though, and did not change for a week...). Free shuttle going towards city centre (Back Bay station).
2) the area is deprived to say the least. See attached picture (view from my window). Full of homeless and/or junkies, dirty, feel really dangerous especially at night (once inside the hotel you are safe though). Sirens and trucks at all times. Not worth the savings compared to a more expensive place in a safer and nicer neighbourhood. Again, NOT RECOMMENDED for single female travellers.
