My room was nice and clean. The fully equipped kitchen was great, but the nonstick coat on all the pans and pots are in really shapes. The front desk was not quite courtesy compared to other hotels.
We drove from FL to escape the hurricane and visit our son. We arrived at midnight and the valet took over 20 minutes to ask about parking our car. He told us we could park for free on the street but failed to mention the mandatory street cleaning the next day.
Free hot / cold breakfast in the morning with eggs, sausage, and bacon as well as plenty of other fruits and pastries. Very good for a budget / mid-range hotel. There is even a rooftop bar as well with great views of the city, and Boston weather is amazing during that time as well.
The hotel is located right next to Fenway Park, which is close to Back Bay and plenty of shopping, dining, BU, and other key Boston attractions. The hotel is relatively easy to find and get dropped off at (it's on a smaller side street) and the lobby is comfortable and modern. Front desk staff is quick and efficient, and as a platinum member you get a nice welcome amenity as well.
The security measures are great. You need your room key to access the floor you are staying on on the elevator. I like that.
Thank God we asked the manager or we would have been towed.
This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. First time was great with no complaints.
Rooms are very well sized, enough to squeeze a family of 4 if needed. Bed was comfortable, power outlets were everywhere that you need them, and the bathroom wasn't the most spacious, but not crowded either. Only main complaint is the lack of bottled water in the rooms (though I guess city water is safe enough to drink)
This visit is not going so well.
Decent rooms and with advanced booking decent price. There is street parking close to the hotel that is metered but after 8pm Saturday it's free until Monday. The hotel is clean and has some modern touches like connected TV's and a glass shower. The kitchenette seems ok, this is definitely a place where you could stay for a week while working in Boston and cook yourself if you desire. The location is really close to Fenway but a few miles out from the freedom trail. I would stay here again if the price is right.
We have had 2 morning knocks on our door from maintenance wanting to do inspections both mornings we have been here at 9am. That is very bad hospitality and I am surprised that Marriott would allow this. I alerted the front desk the second time it happened.
Very nice hotel. Had great time. The breakfast is a nice added feature . The roof outside area is awesome. Drinks prices a little steep though. For people staying there should lower the cost.
A popular city like Boston is full of hotels and choices, which is good. These hotels are usually fairly expensive though as well, so finding an affordable, yet comfortable place located in Boston can be quite a chore. Luckily, the Residence Inn in back bay does the trick.
