$5 can get you so much: a gallon and a half of gas, a Taco Bell box, or in this case a gigantic slice of pizza.
Tell them explicitly to make the pizza crispy otherwise they will handover a soggy foldable pizza ! Overall a decent experience
NOTE: There are TWO locations so if you're calling in for pickup make sure you choose the right place (i've witnessed on more than one occasion people coming in to pick up an order but at the other location).
Outstanding staff! I love the positive energy that's provided here. I've been to both existing New York Pizza's that exist in Boston (other one @ Boston Common) and they're both fabulous. Their huge pizzas are amongst the best compared to other pizza places especially for the price - I definately recommend coming to New York Pizza.
When I'm feeling lazy I'll make a quick stop by here to pick up a slice of pizza. They have a constant rotation of various specialty slices so there's usually something new to experience if you don't come here too often. If all else fails I'm also a huge fan of their plain cheese slice. Slices here are a bit on the pricey side ($3.95 for a plain cheese, $4.95 for a special slice) HOWEVER the slices are absolutely huge (see the pictures here as a reference). One slice is definitely more than enough for the average person. I've also had their chicken Caesar wrap and onion rings which aren't bad but nothing to write home about.
Massive slices 2x a normal slice in size (about 1/5 of a normal XL pie ; $4.95 for a veggie slice with sparse toppings). Absolutely delicious, tender, chewy, real bread crust, that gets a good crunch. The bones (edges of the slice) are good enough to eat alone for an entire meal. Sauce is slightly sweet. Very casual atmosphere. Pizzeria frequented by local residents & construction workers, a sign of its quality. The bacon-chicken-white cheese slice is a tasty gut-bomb.
Just because it was huge and cheap didn't mean the quality of the ingredients have to suffer. It was downright comforting to take a bite and know this wasn't already cooked bacon shipped from out of state. The cheese was nicely layered with a sauce thinly layered. Yup! For $5 and having this place stay open later it is worth whatever hike you need to make after a night downtown.
It's a small pizzeria with about a 20 people-dining-room capacity. They also serve pizza by the slice which was what we needed. We ordered a chicken bake slice for roughly $5 and I have to say this was either made to feed 2 people or 1 starving college student.
After coming from a restaurant, hoping to get our stomaches filled, we were in search of a place to fill in the other half of our stomaches. After some researching places that are cheap and open at the time, it was around 10pm, we found New York Pizza.
