The gravel is terrible and is only friendly to giant dog paws, like labradors or bernards, etc. I wish it was finer gravel or dirt or fake turf like the ARL park. My dogs can't enjoy it because of the gravel alone and do a lot better at the ARL park. However, the rocks are really cool! They love those. :)
Great Community park. It Satisfies the needs and wants of groups of all ages. For youngster they have a nice playgroup and plenty of grass areas suitable for picnics. A great selection of athletic options, this park features a Two Full-size basketball courts, A tennis court, a Wall for outdoor Squash and even a baseball field, mostly for ages 8-13. Great park to walk your dog too.
Over the weekend, specifically a Sunday when I experienced this, there was a HORRID group of owners and their hyperactive, untrained, unsocialized frenchies for a frenchy meet up. They all huddled into the small dog section and their dogs were clearly miserable and reactive, attacking each other, and went after my dogs completely unprovoked. Call me a snob, but I stay far, far away from those "meet ups." It is a recipe for disaster.
Great little park in the South End. Has two basketball courts and a tennis court along with little league fields. Located right off the silver line it is very easy to get too.
Great space for dogs in the city. All the dog walkers bring their clients to Peters so there’s always a playmate for our little gal. Everyone is friendly and cleans up after their pet
Nice dog park. I don't live in the south end but was really searching for a dog park with a separate small dog section, and it's been hard to find one (or at least without physically visiting them all!). Actually once I got to the park, the small dog side was empty, but the all dogs section was almost entirely small dogs anyway, and it was nice to have a backup option. My dog loved playing here and the big rocks are fun for the dog to jump on. I just wish it wasn't all pebbles - the one thing better about my local dog park is that it's all grass. This one tends to get pretty dusty and gross.
Peter's park is cute -- but it could be better. During the week it is mostly dog walkers (who are, thankfully, pretty responsible).
