Love the tour. Hopped off several times and walked to different stops or places nearby. Narration was great and included plenty of history and information with a joke now and again. Overall impressed. I dislike their mobile ticket though. I had no printer access so I utilized it, which involves keeping a browser tab open to display the ticket when you board. You cannot screenshot.. because you need a blinking arrow. Once, I couldn’t get the arrow to blink and was afraid I was going to be stranded, but thankfully they worked with me. Still five stars though, because it was that great overall. Worth it.
I just wanted to send my appreciation to two of the tour guides who helped assisted me in June when I accidentally lost my wallet on the one of the trolleys. We got off at the harbor portion took a sight seeing cruise and when we got off I realized I didn't have my wallet, The gentleman manning the booth at the harbor "Matthew" was VERY helpful and let me know that my wallet was safe on one of the trolley's that had dropped us off. The guide (I can't remember his name, but he was a 4th grade teacher with flag sunglasses) had my wallet. Matthew helped us work out a plan where I would go to the bus depot to retrieve it. This was a life saver. Everyone was very kind and helpful. This was the second day of a ten day vacation so without my wallet I don't know what I would have done. Just wanted to give a shout out to some great guides. Our time on the tours was fantastic as well. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and knowledgeable and we never had to wait long for a trolley. Highly recommended.
I recommend that everyone takes the trolley to explore Boston, especially if you haven't visited the city before. Our driver Gordie made the ride especially enjoyable. He gave lots of information about the city and its history and encouraged us to hop off at the various stops although his commentary was so great that most of us stayed on for the whole round trip! If you do decide to stay on the trolley, the round trip takes about 2 hours so it leaves lots of time to do other things. The Old Town Trolley Tours ticket also includes a free 45-minute Boston Harbour cruise. There are also other discounts and benefits but I didn't have the chance to take advantage of those. I will definitely take a ride on the trolleys on my next visit to Boston! Please note that some of the stops are not marked, so you will have to make a mental note of them. Overall, I highly recommend!
Wonderful time!! Our driver's call handle was "Big Wheel". Big Wheel was witty, funny and obviously knew Boston's history. I was never under the impression he was reading a canned script. Upon departing the bus, I left a few personal items. To my astonishment, the company and Big Wheel tracked them down for me. Two thumbs up to Big wheel and Old Town Trolley!!.
We had Mr. Kelley as our driver and he really made the 2 hour sightseeing trip a lot of fun. The tour is well run and the buses are first rate. I'd give the tour 4 stars and Mr Kelley got them the 5th star. Very Entertaining!!
