Renting with National at Boston Logan should theoretically have been super easy, but having rented cars before I found the process a little confusing. If you make a reservation in advance, I would expect to be told which car I could take. However, since I'm an Emerald Club member I was told to just pick any car on the lot (with the exception of the luxury cars) and drive away. I just found this to be an odd way of handling it, since I had purposefully made a reservation and was worried that I would then be charged for taking a different car than I had reserved. But sure enough I simply picked a car, drove away and was billed for the original amount of my reservation. So if you're an Emerald Club member and expecting a traditional car rental experience, don't. Simply pick whatever non-luxury car you like and drive away. Like I said, should be easy! But I did spend some time wandering around trying to find someone and make sure that I wasn't doing something wrong.
National just makes car rental easy. Sign up for their Emerald program, and you literally walk past the counter, pick any car from the Emerald aisle, and you are on your way. Change of plans, no worries, you don't have to cancel. Decide you need an upgrade at the last minute, they seem to always have one available. Like spokesperson and "control enthusiast", Patrick Warburton, says. I don't have to talk to any humans unless I want to......and I don't. All in jest, but I don't rent with anybody else.
Great service at this location. Really appreciated Bruno taking extra time to help me find the right car. He tolerated all my questions and was very professional and considerate.
Logan is complex but signage is good to get you on the bus from the terminal to rental central. The facility is new, spacious, and restrooms available just before selecting your car...smart. Returning is a maze but simple enough if you pay attention to the signage. The associates were friendly and helpful. Good experience.
I am executive level, happy in general but have one consistent complaint, the windshield is ALWAYS a wiped mess and never clean. This problem is highlighted at night when your trying to see out, EVERY car has this problem, nothing a little glass plus and elbow grease wont fix. HATE this.
